Kingfisher and Lotus

Inspired by a woodcut by Tsuji Kakô, who origininally pictured the image at the right side (about 1900), the single picture was reinterpreted and expanded to a dyptichon. The flushing bird and the growing, rising, flourishing plant received a counterpart in a tranquil, resting bird and mature, bowing lotus leaves.
